Video production

15 dissadvantaged young people worked with proffessionals at the BBC to produce 6 films

What did we do?

Working with Professional producers, editors, Directors and others from the BBC, 15 young people worked in groups to create 6 films.  The group were encouraged to explore the issues they felt were most important and express them through the characters in the film.  They were given training in filming and editing techniques and filmed their ideas over the 12 weeks.

What did we achieve?

The films were shown in May in front of an invited audience.  A deaf film maker has entered her film into a regional competition

All the students felt their teamwork skills had improved and all agreed they had enjoyed it and learned more about film.

Young person – “it was wicked – I feel great and I learned that I can act”.
